Here’s how I managed to setup BlazeDS on my windows local machine.

Steps:

1. Download the latest BlazeDS.
2. Extract it.
3. Download the latest Java Development Kit (JDK), Install it.
4. Set JAVA_HOME environment variable.

Setting up Environment Variable in Windows

1. Open Control Panel
2. Click the System icon then a window will pop up
3. Go to the Advanced tab
4. Click the “Environment Variables”
5. Select “New” in System Variables.
6. In the Variable Name textbox type JAVA_HOME
7. In the Variable Location textbox type the JDK directory

you should be able seeing this:

8. Click Ok.
9. Click Ok.

4. You’re done installing BlazeDS.

Running Installed Sample Applications.

1. Start Tomcat by double clicking [blazeds directory]tomcat\bin\startup.bat
2. Now, check if it works by running http://localhost:8400/ in your browser.

You should be able to see this in your browser

Today, Adobe launches their website. It has a new look, new colors and lovely mini logos. Product pages has really cool backgrounds, and an introduction video at their homepage. But unfortunately, Adobe Labs is not part of the revamp. One tiny detail though, it’s left aligned but overall, I think the site looks good and fresh.

Adobe launches a Flash HD Gallery. It has a few Hi-def videos for sample.

A new released a new version of Flash Player 9 (CodeName MovieStar) last December 3. The update now supports H.264 video and HE-AAC audio codecs. This means HDTV Quality Web Video is now within our reach. Kewl…

The update also includes the ff features:

  • Multi-core support for vector rendering.
  • Full screen mode with hardware scaling (currently not available on Sparc).
  • Flash Player cache for common platform components, such as the Flex framework.

Adobe Labs features prerelease versions of the Flash Player 9 Update software. The release candidate prerelease is an opportunity for developers and consumers to test and provide early feedback to Adobe on new features, enhancements, and compatibility with previously authored content.

This update, codenamed “Moviestar,??? includes new features, enhancements and bug fixes for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux versions of Flash Player 9, including:

* Support for H.264 video and HE-AAC audio codecs.
* Multi-core support for vector rendering.
* Full screen mode with hardware scaling.
* Flash Player cache for common platform components, such as the Flex framework.
* Support for Microsoft Active Accessibility (MSAA) in the Windows plug-in.

Codename “Apollo” has been replaced with AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime). Adobe AIR is now available on Adobe Labs. An Adobe AIR extension for Adobe Dreamweaver is also availabel

Flex 3 Beta is also available.
